166 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENTREPRENEURS After retiring from the federal government after 25 years of faithful service, Willie James Johnson decided to open his own business. Since 2015, he has excelled as the owner of Johnson Tie Knot Design, a business through which he offers neckties that are easier to use compared to the average retail necktie. Notably, Mr. Johnson obtained a patent for his invention in 2016, as well as a trademark for his design in 2017. Throughout the course of his career, he has always prided himself on his creativity and tradesmanship, and he credits much of his success to the support of his family and friends. Earlier, Mr. Johnson obtained an associate degree in business from Trenholm Vocational College, where he also studied refrigeration and HVAC services. He also served in the United States Air Force. During his tenure with the federal government, he worked in both Alabama and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As a testament to his success in the federal sector, Mr. Johnson was honored with a Performance Award. Looking forward, he would like to bring his patented product to market and improve upon its design. OWNER Johnson Tie Knot Design Tuskegee, AL Niel K. Koep has excelled as the owner of Fendu Boulangerie since the business’ inception in 2009. A European bakery based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Fendu Boulangerie sells a variety of organic pastries, baked breads, gourmet pizza and sandwiches, among other delectable food items. As owner, Mr. Koep maintains responsibility for day-to-day operations of the business, as well as customer service. Earlier in his career, he served two luxury hotels as an assistant and then executive pastry chef on the Hawaiian island of Lanai. Among the many highlights of his career, he is exceptionally proud of have baked Bill Gates’ wedding cake during his stay at Lanai. An alumnus of the International Pastry Arts Center in Katonah, New York, Mr. Koep also studied extensively at the French Pastry School of Chicago and at the National Baking Center at the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. To attest to its success, Fendu Boulangerie has maintained an A+ rating through the Better Business Bureau. Outside of his primary roles, Mr. Koep is a member of the Bread Bakers Guild of America and has donated baked goods to Aloha Harvest and the Women’s Fund of Hawaii.
