During his pre-med studies, he worked alongside a myriad of obstetricians, which inspired him to enter the specialty himself. Following his receipt of his medical degree, Dr. Schwartz completed an internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin, in 1956, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Milwaukee County Hospital in 1961. Notably, Dr. Schwartz also served as a captain and physician in the United States Army Medical Corps between 1956 and 1958, escalating to the rank of aviation medical officer. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. To remain abreast of changes in the ever-evolving field of medicine, Dr. Schwartz has also maintained membership with the American Medical Association, the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Fred J. Hofmeister Travel Club. Moreover, he is a former member of such organizations as the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, the Wisconsin Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Milwaukee Gynecological Society, the Medical Society of Milwaukee County and the State Medical Society of Wisconsin. As a testament to his success within his industry, Dr. Schwartz has been the recipient of several accolades and honors. Most notably, he was profiled in the 55th through 59th and the 72nd editions of Who’s Who in America and the second and third editions of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare. Experiencing many career achievements, he is particularly proud of delivering approximately 5,000 babies over the course of his career. In his leisure time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys giving back to his local church.
