During this time, she also discovered her interest in intensive care nursing and served in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at Arkansas Children’s Hospital between 1991 and 1998. She became certified as a critical care registered nurse in 1994. Concomitantly, Ms. Norman served as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center for 15 years. She also obtained a BSN and an MSN from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2004 and 2006, respectively. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nurses in 2004. Following her receipt of her master’s degree, Ms. Norman excelled as an acute care nurse practitioner at Mercy Clinic Cardiology in Hot Springs, Arkansas, between 2006 and 2013. Since 2013, she has thrived in the same capacity at Southwest Cardiology-Intermountain Healthcare in Saint George, Utah. Board-certified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Ms. Norman has found the most rewarding experience in her nursing career to be improving the quality of her patients’ lives through correct medication management and treatment. She has always enjoyed making positive differences in their lives, which has also provided her with a sense of accomplishment. Looking toward the future, Ms. Norman intends to ease into a well-deserved retirement within the next 10 years. In the meantime, she also intends to continue working diligently for her patients’ health and wellness, particularly in the area of cardiology. E arly in her career, Deneen M. Norman worked as a medical laboratory technician. While working in this capacity, she realized her desire to work directlywith patients rather than behind the scenes in a laboratory setting.
