In 1998, Ms. Franks spearheaded ACTAppraisal, Inc., as the owner, president and chief operations officer. Today, ACT Appraisal operates nationwide and has a network of approximately 20,000 licensed appraisers. A large part of her job is to ensure that their staff provides the best customer service for the clients by certifying they are knowledgeable of its services. Ms. Franks is also in charge of various day-to-day operations, such as coordinating orders, enhancing work relationships between their various departments, and managing the workflow of their mortgage appraisal portals and processes, the available software and delivery methods, and any post- delivery issues that may arise. To attest to her superb level of service, Ms. Franks was named to Women of Real Estate in 2021 and to the National Mortgage Professional Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in 2019. In addition, she has been the recipient of a Latino Who’s Who Award. Ms. Franks does not believe she could have achieved such accomplishments without the support of her magnificent team, who have been with her throughout the course of her career. She also finds that her drive, which never stops, contributes to her success. Looking forward, Ms. Franks’ goal is to keep growing and shining a positive light in the real estate industry via her mantra, “Kindness and truth.” Ms. Franks has spent many happy years married to her husband, Bryan, and together they share two children, Marek and Milena. In her free time, Ms. Franks gives back to her community through her involvement with Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit pediatric cancer foundation whose primary goals are granting wishes, raising awareness and funding research to help children fighting cancer. Erika Franks’ love for real estate served as the inspiration for starting an appraisal management business, as she remembers strolling around neighborhoods to look at different houses, and she became interested in the process of purchasing a property.
