71 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT AUTHOR, ARTIST Boynton Beach, FL RICHARD J. MCCROHAN Interested in the creative arts from a formative age, Richard J. McCrohan has excelled as a prolific painter since 1990 and a published author since 2010. When he was young, he was an avid enthusiast of various works of literature and subsequently delved into the profession upon his retirement from being an optician. First authoring the book “Pandora,” he shortly turned his book into a series with such titles as “Salvation Mountain,” “The School Bus,” “Quarantine” and “Behold a Pale Horse.” Having written 13 novels in total thus far, he is especially proud of the recognition of his 2019 work, “The Pittman Family Trilogy.” Notably, Mr. McCrohan is in the process of working with a Los Angeles producer to adapt his novel into visual media. Likewise, Mr. McCrohan has had his paintings held in private and corporate collections across the United States, Europe and South Africa. He is a former 30-year karate instructor as well, having participated in the Pan American Games in Venezuela in 1974. Furthermore, he served as an accomplished optician for over 40 years. Looking forward, Mr. McCrohan intends to expand his audience and begin conducting lectures. An award-winning author and humorist, Jan McCanless has spent the past two decades as an educator and author. Driven to become an author by her love for reading, she desired to tell stories with which people could fall in love, having found her niche in family-friendly mysteries. She published her first book in 2005, and her most recent works include “Murder at the Stateline Motel,” “Laugh Out Loud Funny Stuff: Brain Drippings, Book Two,” and “Murder on the Rocks: The Final Beryl's Cover Mystery,” all of which were published in 2021. Notably, Ms. McCanless was the recipient of the Mother Vine Short Story Award for Best in Essay Writing from Barnhills Books of Winston-Salem in 2013 and was nominated for the International Woman of the Year Award from Traditional Home Magazine in 2005. Ms. McCanless is backed by an Associate of Science in medical technology from Rowan Hospital School of Medical Technology. Outside of her primary work, she served as president of the State Organization for Child Abuse and Family Violence Prevention.
