122 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Since 2019, Thomas C. Malesky has excelled as head volleyball coach at Triton College. As head coach, he is responsible for recruiting and training members of the volleyball team, which includes guidance on enhancing their athletic and academic performances. Notably, his team was twice named All-American Academic Team of the Year. Concurrently, Mr. Malesky serves as a sponsor for the college’s mathematics and physics clubs, as well as a student council advisor and environmental education club sponsor. Prior to obtaining his role at Triton College, he servedMorton College as a volleyball and softball coach between 1991 and 2018. Likewise, he was director of the Morton College St. Patrick’s Day Volleyball Tournament for Girls and Morton College Spring Classic Volleyball for Boys. At the inception of his career, Mr. Malesky served Mary Queen of Heaven School, where he taught and organized a weeklong environmental education trip to the Current River in Missouri for seventh and eighth grade students. Thereafter, he served as an educator at Columbus School, Roosevelt School, Goodwin School and Unity Junior High School from 1974 to 2008. There, he was a student council advisor, where he also conducted a monthly cable television news show. Moreover, Mr. Malesky served School District 99 as a science instructor, coach, department chair, afterschool sports and intramurals school director, and science liaison. He has been certified as a volleyball, baseball and softball official by the Illinois High School Association and a volleyball official by the United States Volleyball Association. Mr. Malesky is especially proud of helping various teams win over 450 college matches, having set the record for most school wins in any sport. To this end, he set the record for most boys’ volleyball wins in one season at Nazareth Academy, as well as in softball at Morton College, where he won over 200 softball games. Mr. Malesky was selected as Coach of the Year by the Illinois Skyway Community College Conference twice in softball and twice in volleyball. He draws upon a BS and MS from Western Illinois University and earned a Type 75 Administration Certification from Governors State University. THOMAS C.
