Mr. Benson completed basic training and learned the intricacies of HVAC services through the military, where he was notably in charge of approximately 200 personnel. He retired from the armed forces as a first sergeant E-7 in 1994. Continuing his tenure with Boeing until 2015, Mr. Benson subsequently founded Benson Filter Maintenance LLC in 2016, where he currently thrives as the founder, chief executive officer and owner. Serving both commercial and residential clients, Benson Filter Maintenance is a building maintenance business that serves the community of Renton, Washington. Notably, when COVID-19 emerged in early 2020, Columbia Bank offered Mr. Benson a grant of $1,000 to help his clients who needed emergency services. Mr. Benson is certified as a universal CFC and HCC processing technician via the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Defense, as well as holds an HVAC certification from Renton Technical College. Maintaining affiliation with the American Builders and Contractors’ Diversity Committee and the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce, he attributes much of his success to his determination and positive attitude. For his success, he received a Certificate of Recognition for his service during the Cold War from the Secretary of Defense in 1996. He also earned a Service Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Award. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Benson enjoys practicing taekwondo and is deeply involved in the martial arts community in Renton. Impressively, he is recognized as an ambassador to the City of Renton for his immense contributions to enhancing the Renton School District. David H.
