MONDRAGON Cultivating lifelong interests in science and nature, Fernando F. Mondragon prepared for his vocational path by receiving a BS in biochemistry from the University of California Riverside in 1976. Joining the Community Hospital of San Bernardino through Dignity Health shortly thereafter, he excelled as a supervisor and a clinical laboratory scientist for nearly four decades prior to his retirement in 2017. While thriving in his dual roles, Mr. Mondragon also pursued additional coursework at Loma Linda University, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science in 1980. After several years in his field, he also received an MBA with a concentration in finance from the School of Business and Public Administration at California State University, San Bernardino in 1992. Among his many career achievements, Mr. Mondragon is especially proud of his longstanding relationships with his colleagues and has felt humbled to maintain lasting friendships with employees who worked under his supervision. Awarded Employee of the Month by Dignity Health during his tenure, he attributes his success to his perseverance through difficult environments, affinity for talking to others and keen management skills. Dr. Paul Connolly Quayle received his PhD in condensed matter physics from Case Western Reserve University in 2015. He has served as a researcher for Kyma Technologies and Michigan State University. He subsequently joined Great Lakes Crystal Technologies in 2020 as chief scientist. Dr. Quayle has made contributions to both experimental and theoretical materials science. He has published multiple works describing the disorder properties of the ternary nitride class of materials. He has led the effort to synthesize a variety of cuttingedge semiconductor materials. He is especially proud of the newly built diamond materials manufacturing facility at Great Lakes Crystal Technologies.
