Prior to her current position, Ms. Genel functioned as a spa manager and skin care consultant in Monmouth County, New Jersey, for 25 years. Over the course of her career, Ms. Genel has been recognized and rewarded for her dedication and excellence in the field. To wit, Mishka Soho was featured in Park Magazine NY and listed as a Number One Restaurant on Yelp, and her spa was nominated as the Number One Salon and Day Spa in Monmouth County. Furthermore, Ms. Genel is especially proud to have had her restaurant featured in several popular television shows, including HBO’s “Sex and the City” and Bravo TV’s “Winter House.” Outside of her primary vocation, Ms. Genel is also well regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy. As a native of Ukraine, she actively donates to organizations assisting refugees in her home country. Ms. Genel also regularly participates with the American Red Cross. While she has always held an interest in the beauty industry, Ms. Genel found her passion in the restaurant business thanks to her grandfather, who was an adventurous culinary artist. Having battled with diabetes during her youth, she learned to cook traditional foods and developed a healthy diet for herself, following a “farm-to-table” approach and forgoing the need for insulin.
