341 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Hanley Foundation Prevention Superhero Award from the Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida in 2020, was honored as an Outstanding Law Enforcement Executive by the Southwest Florida Police Chiefs Association in 2019 and earned a Public Service Award from the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce in 2012, among many other accolades. Among his many career achievements, Mr. Marceno is acclaimed for implementing the Real Time Intelligence Center at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, which has been a highly successful and one-of-a-kind operations room that aids in solving crimes in local regions. Mr. Marceno emphasizes that the center was financed by forfeiture funds from previous criminal cases, thereby being established with no cost to the taxpayers of Lee County. Through the center, he also focuses his attention on fighting against the burgeoning opioid epidemic that exists in Lee County and its surrounding areas. To this end, Mr. Marceno has spent much time to allocate resources to expand the narcotics unit at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, which garnered his team the Region V Unit of the Year Award from the Florida Narcotic Officers’ Association in 2021. In addition to the aforementioned accomplishments, Mr. Marceno created the Safe KidsSafe Schools Initiative, through which he and his staff have successfully ensured the safety of all students during the course of the day, from leaving their homes to go to school in the morning to returning home at the end of the day. His program was subsequently recognized as Agency of the Year by the Florida Association of School Resource Officers in 2020. Moreover, Mr. Marceno established the Animal Cruelty Task Force following a case in which his officers rescued an abused dog, who later became nationally known as Deputy Chance. Deputy Chance was honored during the 2021 American Humane Hero Dog Awards and has been an ambassador of Lee County. Mr. Marceno has been honored on several occasions for his expertise and acclaim, having been honored with the Liberty Bell Award from the Lee County Bar Association in 2021.
