Mr. Tanenbaum has a partner, Candace Leeds; two children, Susan and his late son, Steven; and two grandchildren with his late wife, Linda Tanenbaum. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling to the Hamptons on Long Island, attending theater, opera, ballet and Broadway shows in New York City, and attending sporting events, particularly the New York Rangers, New York Giants and New York Jets. and Minerals Corporation in New York City, he opened his private practice, the Law Offices of Jay H. Tanenbaum, in 1964, where he remains today. In 1967, he was admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States. During his longstanding career, Mr. Tanenbaum served for many years as corporate counsel for the International Gate Corporation and the General Gate Corporation and has maintained active affiliation with several relevant organizations. He is a noted member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York Trial Lawyers Association and the Bronx County Bar Association.
