While tending to his studies, Dr. Barbieri was recruited by the United States Department of State, through which he served as a contract covert operative for over 15 years under the direction of Special Agent James T. Sanford. Through his operative work, Dr. Barbieri became involved in investigative operations, serving as the director of national and international investigations. From this point forward, he decided to spearhead his own business. In 1989, he developed Global Intelligence Consultants, Inc., for which he serves as executive consultant. Over the course of his career, Dr. Barbieri has received a myriad of certifications, including threat assessment specialist, licensed private investigator and certified executive protection expert through the United States Secret Service.
