In 2017, she founded the Hammonds Law Firm in Newport News, Virginia, which specializes in assisting individuals looking to begin their own small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Furthermore, she reviews contracts and drafts employment and confidentiality agreements. Deeply committed to her profession, she developed much of her clientele through online communications and word of mouth referrals, and she works with many of her clients remotely. Ms. Branch has always felt inspired to help others, and in her current role, she is uniquely positioned to do so. Prior to beginning her vocational journey, Ms. Branch cultivated her own education. After earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from Norfolk State University, she achieved a JD from the Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2013. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Branch is licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas and the Virginia State Bar. Well regarded for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen as well, Ms. Branch co-founded the nonprofit organization, Youth in the Middle. Over the course of her career, she has discovered that those in the middle class are often overlooked when attempting to receive financial aid for college. Therefore, her nonprofit organization focuses on strengthening young, middle class adults through education and by providing aid for college tuition and book scholarships. In light of her many accomplishments, Ms. Branch attributes much of her success to her supportive family, who positively influenced the development of her dedicated work ethic and morals. She defines success as being able to do what she loves, be it personally or professionally, and she has found her career to be largely rewarding in this regard.
