As a result of his global recognition, he has been called upon to serve as an expert witness in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, New York and Texas. Along the way, he has mentored many emerging lawyers who have grown into leadership management roles at their respective firms. Over much of the last decade, Mr. Briggs has taught a seminar in international competition law, administration and policy at the George Washington Law School. He has also published more than 50 articles in his field. An alumnus of Harvard College, Mr. Briggs graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1965, followed by service as an officer in the United States Navy, where he served two tours in Vietnam. Upon his return, he matriculated at the Georgetown University Law Center, graduating with high honors in 1972. In addition to his substantial legal writing, he is a founding editor of The Chesapeake Observer, which publishes news, commentary and criticism.
