He earned a BS in electrical engineering technology from Bradley University in 1982, followed by an MS in computer science from North Central College in 1989. Subsequently, he became certified as a quality engineer by the American Society of Quality in 1989, a lead assessor by the British Standards Institution in 1995 and a project management professional by the Project Management Institute in 2007. Mr. Morrical commenced his career in 1982 as a senior engineer at GTE Communications Systems in Northlake, Illinois, where he remained until 1985. Looking to accept a new endeavor, he was hired by AT&T Bell Laboratories Lucent Technologies/Alcatel-Lucent as a quality manager, where he specialized in cybersecurity, cloud expert research and the development of cloud standards. Throughout the duration of his career, Mr. Morrical is particularly proud to have led the Bell Laboratories team pilot the very first multinational TL9000 certification for the flagship product, 5ESS Switch. Finding great success throughout the course of his career, Mr. Morrical was the recipient of a Leadership Award in 2001, as well as Outstanding Leadership and Contribution Awards in 2005 and each year consecutively from 2007 to 2012. He was also presented with the Chief Operating Officer Award in 2012 and a lifetime fellowship induction in 2016, both from Quest Forum. He also earned a Bell Laboratories’ President Award and the Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who in 2018. Reflecting upon his vast professional success, Mr. Morrical credits his emotional IQ, as he finds it has been important to understand others. He also credits being an avid reader, which has propelled him to excel at online research, and his natural affinity to prepare and execute strategy, providing for excellent team leadership. He additionally learned that taking calculated risks is necessary to show others the way to success. Thriving on developing new products that better society, Mr. Morrical’s most rewarding times were witnessing the first applications of new devices making great improvements in other individuals’ lives.
