Powers is recognized as a seasoned executive in the health care industry with over 10 years of experience to his credit. MedShorts was established in 2015 as an online pharmacy marketplace, through which Mr. Powers was an active co-founder and aided in the organization’s advancement in the field through technology development, marketing strategies and e-commerce operations. As president of MedShorts, Mr. Powers oversees a staff of 20 team members who have all worked collaboratively to connect hospital procurement teams with reputable pharmaceutical manufacturers. To this end, MedShorts is revered in the industry for helping pharmacies across the nation save on medication costs, access and sustainability. In doing so, MedShorts’ system matches each pharmacy’s rates with open market availability on its user- friendly sourcing channel. Since the organization’s inception in 2015, MedShorts has contracted with 70 different pharmaceutical manufacturers, as well as more than 1,000 health care facilities. To date, the organization has secured seed round funding of approximately $3.5 million. Earlier in his career, Mr. Powers served in the health care industry as a partner of B3 Precision Medical Technologies, through which he provided start-up companies with consulting services, and as chief operating officer of Home Care Solutions, a national infusion and compounding pharmacy. Outside of his primary career endeavors, Mr. Powers lends his time and expertise to his community, having supported the Children’s Home Society of Florida – an organization that fosters over 3,000 children throughout Central Florida. Additionally, Mr. Powers supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Doctors Without Borders, among others. To prepare for his pronounced career, Mr. Powers pursued a formal education at Florida State University, from which he received a bachelor’s degree in finance and entrepreneurship in 2007.
