While studying toward his doctorate, Dr. Gold joined the Reed Union School District in Tiburon, California, in 1976, where he excelled as a district psychologist until his retirement in 2023. As district psychologist, Dr. Gold organized groups for children who were coping with strenuous life situations, including parental divorce, poor social skills, parental illness, special needs siblings and other life dilemmas that may require childhood counseling. Alongside this endeavor, Dr. Gold conducted individual and group counseling for children and organized various mathematics clubs for over 35 years for high-achieving mathematics students who were seeking additional challenges. Outside of his roles with the Reed Union School District, he taught as an adjunct professor at the University of California Berkeley from 1980 to 1987. Dr. Gold is a nationally certified school psychologist and a member of both the National and California Associations of School Psychologists. Congruent to his professional path, he has been the chairperson of the board of Being Adept, a nonprofit that educates middle school students on substance abuse, as well as the president of his local synagogue. He also founded the TEA Club, a club that educates children on the importance of acceptance and equity among all individuals during their lunch periods. He also started the Gender Sexuality Alliance, which is a student organization that establishes a safe space for them to discuss sexuality and gender identity. For his achievements, Dr. Gold won the 1991 and 2017 Outstanding School Psychologist Awards from the California Association of School Psychologists. He was the recipient of the 1994 First Educator Award for Outstanding Educators from the Reed Union School District. An alumnus of the University of California Berkeley, Dr. Allan P. Gold first earned a BA in mathematics, summa cum laude, followed by an MA in statistics and an additional BA in psychology. In 1978, he subsequently earned a PhD in educational psychology. During his graduate studies, Dr. Gold joined the U.S. Army Reserve during the Vietnam War, where he was ALLAN P.
