GRUBBS Instilled with a value on education from a young age, Elizabeth W. Grubbs attendedTuskegee University, fromwhich she received a BS in education. Following this achievement, she earned an MEd in school administration and a master’s degree in counseling, both from the University of West Alabama. Over the course of her longstanding career, Ms. Grubbs served in a myriad of roles, including as a mathematics, English and remediation teacher; a high school counselor; a state and federal competitive grant writer; a career education counselor for at-risk youth; an administrative assistant to the superintendent; and an educational administrator for the Pike County Board of Education. Ms. Grubbs received an honorary doctorate in counseling education in 2014 and has since retired from her profession. Notably, Ms. Grubbs authored the book “Grip Life” in 2021 and has been a public relations presenter across Alabama. She was also a session speaker for the ACEAC Conference in Mobile, Alabama. Decorated with numerous accolades, she earned the 2021 and 2022 Woman of History Award, having previously been named the 2020 Zeta of the Year for Outstanding Community Service and several awards from her community church. Kenneth A. Hackman joined the faculty of Madison Central High School in Mississippi in 1996, where he has served as a science teacher and zoological field studies coordinator for 10th through 12th grade students. During his career at Madison Central, he has also coached volleyball and fast pitch softball, as well as served as the public address announcer at school sporting events and the advisor and sponsor for the Madison Central Ornithology Club and the Shine Bible Study. Earlier, Mr. Hackman worked at Callaway High School as a science teacher, as well as at Saint Andrews Episcopal School as a biology and mathematics teacher. Drawing upon a BS in secondary science education fromMississippi State University and MEd in school supervision and leadership from Belhaven University, Mr. Hackman has been recognized extensively for his work in wildlife conservation. He is a frequent guest host of a statewide radio program, was featured in WildBird Magazine and received the Special Merit Award from the Mississippi Wildlife Federation.
