Backed by studies in fashion photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York, her 22-year-old daughter began to help with social media management two years ago. An artist long before she became a florist, Ms. Aguilar reflects on her visits to foreign places such as Bali, Indonesia. During her travels, she developed a passion for flowers, falling in love with their beauty. From there, she went on to study at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, where she obtained an associate degree in installation arts in 1998. Looking forward, Ms. Aguilar intends to expand her business by establishing more locations so more customers can have greater access to her flowers. A renowned florist and artist, Tawnie Aguilar has excelled as the owner of Zoom Bloomz, an outdoor flower market that incorporates a European flair, in Wynwood, Florida, for the past eight years. Focusing on creating beautiful, varied flower arrangements for customers without the expensive cost, her aim has always been to make flowers more affordable and more accessible. At her full-service shop, customers can order one-of-a-kind flower arrangements or select from several pre-made ones. Additionally, Ms. Aguilar caters to weddings, corporate events and parties of all sizes. Ms. Aguilar's greatest sense of fulfillment as an entrepreneur comes from seeing her customers’ reaction to the flowers and their style. She takes different types of flowers from South Africa, Brazil and Israel and arranges them in unique ways to accomplish a rustic, elegant look that customers are not accustomed to, but have come to enjoy. With her own artistry and the professional skills of two floral designers she employs, she continues to delight others with her specialized arrangements.
