Chevy Chase, MD In pursuit of a career in medicine, Dr. Alan H. Singer attended Brooklyn College, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 1972. Pursuing higher education, he subsequently received a DDS in dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery from the College of Dentistry at Howard University inWashington, D.C., in 1978. During his doctoral coursework, he became enthralled with the practice of dental medicine and, thereafter, decided to pursue oral surgery as his subspecialty. Following his receipt of his dentistry degree, Dr. Singer completed coursework in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Howard University Hospital and D.C. General Hospital between 1978 and 1981. Since 1981, Dr. Singer has excelled as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at his own eponymously named practice, Alan H. Singer, DDS, P.C., located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Over the course of the past four decades and counting, he has been exceptionally gratified by helping his patients overcome their dental fears and improving their dental health. He has always exhibited great passion and love for his profession, which has become evident in the positive reviews he receives from loyal patients. Alongside his primary career path, Dr. Singer has also served as an associate professor at the College of Dentistry at Howard University since 1981. For his exceptional undertakings in dental medicine, Dr. Singer has been honored on a myriad of occasions. In 1978, he received the Dean’s Award from Howard University. More recently, he has been recognized with the Sterling v. Meade Award from the District of Columbia Dental Society, the Service Award for serving on the American Dental Association’s delegation for over 18 years from the District of Columbia Dental Society, and the Israel “Sonny” Shulman Award from the Maimonides Dental Society. For his educational achievements, Dr. Singer was revered with a Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award and the John Turner Award, both from the College of Dentistry at Howard University.
