In his role as a paramedic, he is responsible for responding to emergency calls prior to dispatching ambulances, as well as determining the gravity of each individual’s health and employing medical treatment as necessary. Earlier in his career, Mr. McCarrick served as a paramedic for the Bridgehampton Fire District and the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department between 2018 and 2020 and for Ready Responders, Inc., from 2020 to 2021. Obtaining his license as a paramedic in 2018, Mr. McCarrick has also served outside of his primary endeavors as a member of the Suffolk County Medical Reserve Corps, a position he has held since 2019. From 2009 to 2013, he also served in shelter operations and the medical unit with the American Red Cross. He attributes much of his success to the encouragement of his family, whom all supported his desire to enroll in challenging paramedic certification courses at the prestigious Stony Brook University. As a testament to his success, Mr. McCarrick was recognized for registering the highest response rate among his fellow emergency medical technicians by the Rocky Point Fire Department for four consecutive years. Likewise, the Rocky Point Fire Department honored him with the 2016 EMT of the Year Award. Looking toward the future, Mr. McCarrick would like to pursue higher education to advance his knowledge and understanding of the field. Particularly, he is attending Kent State University to receive a degree in public health, which he can leverage to seek out leadership roles in various emergency medical services agencies on local, county and statewide scales. His avocational activities include playing computer games, cooking and photography. Excelling within the field of emergency medical services, Ryan W.
