Gamba is a proven enterprise leader. Since 2000, he has worked with BlackRock, Inc., in New York City, originally joining as the director of global strategy and later functioning in several other positions, including as the chief executive officer of Latin American and the Caribbean, the regional head of Latin America and Iberia, and the global head of active equity product strategy. As of 2020, Mr. Gamba has operated as the co-head of fundamental equities, a role in which he is responsible for company business ventures around the world. Throughout his career, Mr. Gamba has specialized in investment management, global distribution, sales marketing and operations, investing and client relations. Adjacent to his primary responsibilities, he serves as the chair of the board of governors at the CFA Institute, a role in which he is deeply involved in diversity and inclusion initiatives. Furthermore, as part of his dedication to the field, he remains affiliated with the BlackRock Retirement Board, as well as the Northwestern University Alumni Association. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Gamba pursued a formal education, beginning with his time at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering in 1989. He then achieved an MBA in economics and finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1997. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Gamba was recognized as a chartered financial analyst by the CFA Institute in 2003. Accounting for his many accomplishments over the course of his career, Mr. Gamba attributes much of his success to his passion, tenacity and resilience in the face of adversity. Growing up in Peru with scarce resources taught him to be innovative and allowed him to discover his love of learning.
