Rappaport visited a nuclear facility in Princeton, New Jersey, where he was taught about many of the operations conducted within the building, such as the operation of mechanical arms and manipulation of radioactive materials. Immediately garnering interest and fascination in the subject of nuclear research, he attended California State University, East Bay, from which he graduated in 1969 after studying mathematics, physics and engineering. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rappaport served as a managing partner and founder of Biomass One between the 1980s and 1990s, drawing upon his immense expertise and knowledge in alternative energy, renewable energy, project management and energy efficiency.
