In 2015, Ms. Richards transitioned to St. Thomas Federal Credit Union and was appointed the youngest female chief executive officer in the credit union’s history. Notably, under her leadership, the credit union escalated in popularity and was placed into prominence on a local and national scale. She earned the credit union numerous local accolades and a national award from the National Association of FederallyInsured Credit Unions in 2019. Additionally, under Ms. Richards’ leadership, the credit union’s asset size grew from$50million to nowover $82million. Alongside her primary path, Ms. Richards co-founded Solum Group LLC in 2015 after discovering that the Virgin Islands was in need of affordable and modern rental homes. The Solum Group endeavors to rehabilitate damaged and neglected properties and turn them into affordable, high-profile rental lodgings. On her journey to fulfill her passion, she recently embarked on another project, the Compliance Corner LLC, which seeks to provide personalized regulatory compliance services, operations management, and training and facilitation solutions with a human touch to small- and midsized businesses. She has also lent her time to community service ventures while stressing the importance of giving back through community and family outreach programs. Richards is a noteworthy finance executive with over 20 years of experience to her credit. Her career in banking stemmed when she joined Popular, Inc., in 2000 as a bank teller. Her continuous growth and dedication led her to ascend the ranks at Popular, Inc., where she was promoted to assistant vice president in 2007 and then manager and vice president of regional operations by 2014.
