394 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SOCIAL SERVICES AND NONPROFIT Having served his community for over three decades, Simon Gordon has built a profound career as a senior pastor of Triedstone Church in Chicago, Illinois. Having functioned in this role since 1989, he oversees a congregation of 3,000 members, 30 support ministries and 14 other senior pastors. Furthermore, since 1999, Mr. Gordon has served as the chairman of the Total Resource Community Development Organization, which provides health research training and supplies local communities with information and resources to combat various health crises. Prior to beginning his vocational journey, Mr. Gordon pursued a formal education, attending Trinity College and achieving a Master of Science in religious studies. In addition to his primary vocation, he is an advisor for the White House Faith-Based Council, an associate of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and an instructor with the African American Clergy and Educators. To remain abreast of industry-related developments, Mr. Gordon also maintains membership with the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship and Pastors 4PCOR, and he is a board member of the Tehillah Music Group. Mr. Gordon is also well regarded for his creative output, having authored several books, including “Walk in the Spirit,” “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Christians” and “The Human Idea of God.” As part of his dedication to civic advocacy, he is a board member and faith-based chairman for Prevention Partnership, Inc., which specializes in HIV awareness and substance abuse prevention. To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Gordon was presented with the Paul Kelly Service Award, as well as the President’s Award from the United Theological Seminary. Mr. Gordon envisions a church with its doors open to anyone who is in crisis, whether it be from a lack of food, homelessness or sickness, or if one is searching for kindness. In light of his many successes, he is most proud simply to be able to serve others. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gordon hopes to continue having a positive impact on his community and its citizens.
