Dr. Williams earned a BS from Viterbo University in 2004. She went on to matriculate at National Louis University, where she obtained an MA in educational leadership in 2010 and an EdD in educational leadership in 2017. She began teaching in 2000 as an elementary art instructor at Franklin Elementary School until serving the Sacred Heart School as a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teacher. In 2008, following three years as a fifthgrade classroom and music teacher at Wallace Elementary School, Dr. Williams joined the Menominee Indian School District, where she was a third through fifth grade teacher and district summer school principal until 2012. She was also an adjunct professor and teacher education candidate supervisor for the College of Menominee Nation, during which time she was honored as a Menominee Woman of Influence. Dr. Williams moved into educational administration as a course designer for Learning Journeys, technology integration presenter for the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators and regional service network director for Cooperative Educational Services Agency 5 between 2011 and 2013. In 2013, she accepted a position with WestEd as a school improvement and family engagement facilitator, remaining there until 2016 when she was named as an assistant superintendent of the Diocese of La Crosse, a role she held until 2020. She was recognized as a Top Female Executive for Outstanding Professional Excellence and Dedication in 2016 and a Woman of Outstanding Leadership for Contributions to Family-CareerCommunity in 2014. Accruing over two decades of experience in education, Dr. Jessica April Williams has excelled as the principal of St. Patrick’s School in Wisconsin since 2020.
