SENDEL, PHD A distinguished entrepreneur, Dr. Barry R. Sendel has founded over seven companies. He currently excels as the co-founder and chief executive officer of Chef Minute Meals, Inc., and the founder of Hand of Hope for food donations for the homeless. Previously, he founded Innovatek Inc., Norsofco Group Ltd., Kyoto Fibers, D&B Specialty Foods Inc., and Open Woodhaven “Montreal,” which was later renamed the Home Renovation Depot and Building Supply House. With 15 trademarks and two patents pending, Dr. Sendel has produced over 700,000 woven fabric shelters for refugees in East Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War and their monsoon season in 1971, as well as created the first credit card protection register, “Protect-O-Card,” in 1968. To prepare for his career, Dr. Sendel earned a PhD in mathematics from Sir George Williams University in Canada in 1964. Notably, he has won several Canadian Grand Prix Awards for Originality and Innovation in the 2000-2001 Canadian Grocery Product category, became an honorary member of the Trademark Business Leaders of America in 2018, and received the Citizen of the Year Award from the U.S. Deputy Sheriff’s Association in 2019. He attributes his success to perseverance. Self-taught from a formative age, Forrest Thompson currently excels as the owner of RT&T Machining, Inc. Established in 1982, RT&T Machining services not only Northeast Ohio, but also across the nation with machining services, including repair service of indexable cutting tools and tool holders. Initially started in a 500-square-foot garage, the company then moved to its current location in Mentor, Ohio, and now situates in a shop of over 12,000 square feet of floor space. Likewise, RT&T Machining was commenced with three employees, including Mr. Thompson, and now employs approximately 25 individuals. Notably, RT&T Machining is revered across the state of Ohio for its implementation of state-of-the-art technologies to remain abreast of its competition, and they are committed to providing each and every one of their clients with customized solutions based upon their unique needs. Placing significance on accuracy, efficiency and timeliness, RT&T Machining is dedicated to complete client satisfaction. Mr. Thompson is especially proud of opening the company and maintaining its integrity to the present day, which has spanned across four decades.
