Israel is well regarded as an expert in the fields of politics and government. She began her career by working as a director, coordinator and assistant for several presidential campaigns from 1966 to 1980, including Humphrey for President between 1966 and 1967, Bayh for President in 1971, Jackson for President between 1975 and 1976, and Kennedy for President between 1979 and 1980. Following this time, Ms. Israel subsequently operated as the senior vice president for The Kamber Law Group from 1981 to 1987, and she later founded Politics, Inc., in 1987, where she served as the president and chief executive officer until her retirement in 1995. Outside of her professional duties, Ms. Israel has always been deeply dedicated to civic advocacy. Between 1981 and 1983, she served with the board of managers for the Adas Israel Congregation and as the president and international election coordinator of the Bender Junior Chamber of Commerce of Greater Washington. Furthermore, she was a member of the Democratic Charter Commission between 1982 and 1983. To this day, Ms. Israel remains an active member of the Bender Junior Chamber of Commerce of Greater Washington, the Democratic Site Selection Committee, the national executive commission for the Anti-Defamation League, the Avalon Coordination Centre, and the United States Department of State. Over the course of her career, Ms. Israel has been honored with numerous accolades. Most notably, she was appointed by former President Barack Obama to the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, which identifies and ensures the protection of cemeteries, monuments and historic buildings in Europe
