Prior to his current positions, Mr. Ford served as a project, business and engineering manager for Mustang Engineering, formerly known as the Wood Group, from 2011 to 2019. He also offered his expertise as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston-Downtown and an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Mr. Ford served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a commanding officer, program administrator, unit executive officer, engineering officer, engineering manager, senior sailing instructor and company commander, among other positions, between 1987 and 2011. During his military career, he established the country’s first Vessel Support Unit in response to Hurricane Katrina and led the successful logistical response to Hurricane Ike, which resulted in saving 12,000 lives and over $2 billion to the economy. For his achievements, Mr. Ford has earned several accolades, including five Coast Guard Commendation Medals. He additionally obtained an MS in mechanical engineering and an MS in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
