246 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY Since retiring from professional work and military service, Mr. Hatchett has taken to fishing as a part of his regular recreational activities, and he remains an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. Additionally, he remains active in his community as a civic-minded citizen, participating as a choir member at his local church. In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Hatchett has largely attributed his success to his dedicated work ethic and faith. With nearly 50 years of experience, Earl “Daddy Rabbit” Hatchett has cultivated a career of excellence across several vocations. A decorated veteran, he joined the United States Army in 1964 and honorably served with them for six years. He later joined the United States National Guard, where he served until 2002, retiring at the rank of staff sergeant. Well-versed in mechanical engineering, as well, Mr. Hatchett also worked with Ford Motor Company from 1970 to 2004, where he built pickup trucks. During his military service, Mr. Hatchett was often referred to as “Daddy Rabbit” by his friends and fellow service members. In a 2021 interview with The Jobe Newspaper Network, he recounted how he misses serving and being with his compatriots. To commemorate his dedicated service, Mr. Hatchett was honored with several accolades, including numerous Army Achievement Medals, the Bronze Star Medal for Exceptional Military Achievement in Desert Storm, and several marksmanship awards and certificates of recognition.
