352 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine For over three decades, Bill Hulsey has demonstrated his expertise in the field of law as a patent lawyer. Prior to beginning his own practice in 2003, he commenced his career working as a partner with Baker Botts LLP from 1990 to 1998. He was also a senior partner with K&L Gates (formerly Hughes & Luce) between 2000 and 2003. Throughout his career, Mr. Hulsey has specialized in securing patent and trademark rights for clients and companies, allowing them to excel in their respective competitive markets. Adjacent to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Hulsey has also operated as an adjunct professor of intellectual property law at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico since 2005, special counsel for Boylan Code since 2011, and a founder of EconoVention RED (in association with HULSEY, P.C.) since 2018. Mr. Hulsey is also a veteran of the United States Navy, having honorably served between 1977 and 1981, operating in nuclear engineering and as a submarine officer and engineer officer. Prior to retiring from his service, he achieved the rank of lieutenant commander. Before embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Hulsey pursued a formal education, earning a BS in theoretical mathematics from Rhodes College in 1977, an MA in economics from the University of Virginia in 1983 and a JD from the Vanderbilt University Law School in 1987. Mr. Hulsey is also licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas and the Tennessee Bar Association, and he remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the International Economic Development Council, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Military Officers Association of America. With an extensive family history of positive involvement in economic development, Mr. Hulsey knew he wanted to combine his knowledge of science, engineering and economics to become a lawyer. To wit, he is proud to be involved in the economic growth of his local community.
