357 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Hailing from a family of lawyers, Ryan Patrick Waters felt inspired to pursue the same path and represent lawyers as kind and hardworking professionals. He sought to be the type of lawyer with whom others would want to connect. To this end, he noted that if he had the passion and heart for the work, he could be the change that individuals wanted to see in the world. Mr. Waters went on to earn a BS in human resource management and business administration from Columbia College in 2009 and later followed with a JD from the University of Missouri Columbia School of Law in 2014. At the inception of his professional endeavors, Mr. Waters gained experience as a legal intern with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services and as a research assistant with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Commissioner’s Office, both in 2013. In 2015, he cofounded Dodson & Waters LLC, where he continues to excel as a managing partner and civil defense attorney. Bringing a modern and premier service law firm to the small city of Jefferson City, Missouri, Mr. Waters specializes in civil litigation, estate planning, real estate and criminal causes, along with pro bono cases. Alongside his primary role, Mr. Waters is a defense attorney for the Cole County Treatment Court Program, through which he aims to raise awareness of valuable alternatives to incarceration. He is honored to have attended the National Association of Drug Court Professionals Conference. To remain abreast of developments in his industry, Mr. Waters maintains membership with the Cole County Bar Association and the Thomas Elwood Inns of Court. Civically, he remains active with Equal Rights Association’s Veterans Advocacy Clinic. Mr. Waters attributes his success his ability to treat others the way he would want to be treated, noting that this positive attitude has garnered respect from judges, clients and colleagues alike. Looking ahead, he plans to add two more attorneys to his practice while also working to build a stronger influence in his local community.
