PARKER Having accumulated more than three decades of experience as a teacher, Virginia M. Parker is a proven leader in the field of education. In 1973, she began operating as an English teacher at Blue Hills Regional Technical School, and she would diligently instruct students there until retiring from her position in 2007. Adjacent to her primary responsibilities, Ms. Parker served as an advisor for the school’s newspaper and honor society and the School Mediation Associates. Prior to commencing her career, Ms. Parker cultivated her own education, earning a Bachelor of Arts from Emmanuel College in 1972, and she subsequently achieved a Master of Arts from Middlebury College in 1989. Well regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy, she is particularly proud to have volunteered with the local Jesuit community. Ms. Parker has been recognizedwith numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Educator Award from the Norfolk County Teachers Association. To wit, she is thankful to have found a wealth of success over the course of her career, thanks largely in part to her loving and caring nature. Looking forward, she intends to continue enjoying her retirement. With over three decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Phyllis Qualls is a renowned leader in the field of education. Coming froma family of educators, she initially began her career in 1991. Since 2019, she has operated as the vice president for institutional advancement, communications and marketing at American Baptist College. Over the course of her career, she has proven herself as an expert in women’s and minority issues, media studies, and state and federal politics. As part of her vocational journey, Dr. Qualls earned a Doctor of Education in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University in 2006. In honor of her commitment to her field, Dr. Qualls has been recognized with numerous awards and commendations, including the Johnella H. Martin Award, the ATHENA Award and the Vision Award in 2016. Furthermore, she remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Furthermore, Dr. Qualls is deeply dedicated to civic advocacy and is well regarded for her creative output. DR. PHYLLIS QUALLS
