Other professional endeavors to her credit include teaching master classes at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Museum of Fine Arts, through which she was afforded opportunities to speak at radio and television interviews. During these pivotal moments, Ms. Haroon also served on the panel of “The God Squad,” an American television program that discussed political and social issues as perceived by faith leaders. She has also been featured on other programs, including “Mid-East Report,” “Beyond the Beltway” and “Week in Review.” Supported by her media-related experience, she has also presented lectures at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Algerian National Library and Santa Monica College, among other institutions. Ms. Haroon has further leveraged her diverse experiences as an artist and lecturer to serve as a globally recognized speaker on culture, ethnicity and religion to exemplify the diversity of not only the United States, but also the world. She has successfully used her platform to present innovative, equitable ideas to civilians across the globe, drawing upon her own personal experiences as a Muslim-American. To this end, Ms. Haroon has demonstrated her expertise as a board member of the Cornerstone Theater Company, co-chair of the Muslim-Jewish Dialogue, a founding board member of the Los Angeles chapter of developments in literacy, and vice president of the Pakistan Arts Council of the University of Southern California Pacific Asia Museum. To attest to her success, Ms. Haroon was honored with the Trailblazer Award from NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change.
