For the following year, she was a metallurgical intern for Phelps Dodge, followed by 10 years of increasing responsibilities in metallurgy for FreeportMcMoRan. Since 2018, she has excelled with Freeport-McMoRan as chief metallurgist, as well as with Climax Molybdenum, a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan, in the same capacity since 2018. Drawing upon a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Arizona, Ms. Callahan also received an MBA from the University of Arizona Eller College of Management in 2010. She has maintained professional alignmentwith theSocietyofMiningEngineers. Throughout her career, she has leveraged her specialties in chemical engineering and metallurgy to excel at her role. Notably, during her collegiate studies and while in the mining industry, Ms. Callahan participated in research in relation to her area of expertise alongside field operations. She attributes her success to the guidance of her mentors, noting that she has thrived in what is typically a male-dominated industry, and holds passions for sustainability and community development. A certified professional geologist through the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) since 1991, Amy L. Hoeksema has excelled as a senior project manager I and electric transmission and distribution project management lead at Consumers Energy since 2020. She first joined Consumers Energy in 2015, where she excelled from project manager I to project manager III in four years. Earlier in her career, she was senior vice president, technical knowledge manager and operations leader over the Great Lakes region at Arcadis N.V. between 1999 and 2015. She commenced her career in 1987 as a field geologist, where she worked her way up to a senior geologist and department manager for RMT, Inc. Drawing upon a BS in geology fromLake Superior State University and graduate coursework in contaminant transportation and hydrogeology at Western Michigan University, Ms. Hoeksema is a member of the Project Management Institute and earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2017. She served on the executive board of the Michigan section of AIPG from 2016 to 2020 and on the National AIPG Advisory Board in 2019.
