Most recently, he was recognized as among the first ever inaugural drink innovators by Food & Wine Magazine through the Meredith Corporation in 2022. He is licensed in the distillery practice and maintains membership with the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, for whom he has been co-chairman of the education committee. While in the fields of finance, marketing and media production for over 25 years, Jackie Summers learned that he had a cancerous tumor, which drastically changed the trajectory of his life. Mr. Summers recovered from his cancer and entered remission, which afforded him the desire and opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those around him. Drawing upon a small recipe he created for family and friends in his own kitchen, he decided to perfect his recipe despite having little experience in the liquor business. Since 2012, Mr. Summers has excelled as the chief executive officer, founder and president of JackFromBrooklyn Incorporated. Notably, Mr. Summers is recognized as the first African American individual to bottle a shelf-stable version of an artisanal liqueur beverage, titled Sorel. For his eminent progress and achievements in his field, he has received a myriad of honors and accolades in his field.
