254 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY At a young age, James R. Eigenberg traveled to the county seat, thus inspiring him to work as a commissioner for the county. Drawing upon coursework at Worthington Community College, he first served as a farmer for several decades before joining Jackson County, Minnesota, in 2016. Since that time, he has excelled as a parttime county commissioner. Looking toward the future, he intends to consider several career opportunities, including becoming a full-time commissioner or delving into various political arenas. He would also like to continue his work on the farm, which involves general farm labor and management responsibilities. Involved with his local church and the board of New Vision Coop in his spare time, Mr. Eigenberg attributes much of his success to his diligent work ethic and being actively involved in his community. He also credits his affinity for critical thinking, verbal communication and reading comprehension to be factors leading to his success as a commissioner. Likewise, he was influenced greatly by his mentors, all of whom guided him toward the prominent role he is recognized in today.
