Formerly serving Care Management Technologies as senior vice president, she previously focused much of her attention on health care information management and clinical decision support systems. During this period, she and her team analyzed Medicaid claims from 33 different state agencies to identify if psychotropic medication were being prescribed in accordance with the best practice guidelines. Following her tenure with the organization, Ms. Machtay desired to establish her own business. Since 2009, she has excelled as the president of Machtay Consulting LLC. Ms. Machtay notes that upon developing her own business, she felt as if she was reinventing herself, thus establishing her as the noted entrepreneur and health information specialist she is recognized as today. A certified professional in health care information and management systems, she also draws upon a Bachelor of Science in statistics from the University of Tennessee, which she obtained in 1995. Likewise, she is an active member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. In accounting for her success, Ms. Machtay credits her natural affinity for her profession, and she emphasizes that she has always felt organically gifted and skilled in her chosen field. Among the many highlights of her career, she is especially proud of participating in the establishment of TennCare with a start-up company early in her career. TennCare was the first Medicaidmanaged care contract in the country, which set the standard for emerging contracts across the nation. Likewise, she is gratified to have worked with an impressive colleague for two decades who provided Ms. Machtay with words of advice and encouragement. Looking toward the future, Ms. Machtay intends to grow her contracts further to expand the scope of her business. Additionally, she would like to develop a predictive model for at-risk youth.
