Klein is renowned as a family physician, author and educator. The founder, co-owner and primary investigator for the Alliance for Multispecialty Research in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Klein has also spent significant time with a myriad of other vocational endeavors. He has also served as the owner and director of PK4 Laboratories, the owner and director of the Heartland Research Associates (which later became the Alliance for Multispecialty Research), the owner and family physician of Family Medicine East, and a clinical assistant professor at the School of Medicine at the University of Kansas. With the Alliance for Multispecialty Research, Dr. Klein helped integrate 25 of the very best clinical research sites across the country. To prepare for his pronounced career, Dr. Klein received an MD from the School of Medicine at the University of Kansas in 1988. He followed this with a residency in family medicine, which he completed at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in 1991. Certified to practice medicine in the State of Kansas since 1989, Dr. Klein is also certified as a clinical research investigator and in fiber optic sigmoidoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Furthermore, he has been board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds a meaningful use stage 1 certification through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Dr. Klein has published several articles and has maintained involvement with the New England Journal of Medicine. He is especially proud of cofounding Heartland Research Associates in 1991 alongside other medical experts, including his brother. The company became one of the largest research companies across the nation and was recognized three times by the BIOWorld Congress as the number one research company in the United States. Their research has undergone four different phases on medicine that has benefited the ever-expanding population, including developing vaccines and therapeutic methodologies for several conditions.
