298 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Dedicated to educating others in the field of medicine, Dr. Penne L. McPherson is a proven leader in the medical community. Having operated as an oncology educator with Centura Health since 2012, she is responsible for teaching groups of nurses in oncology residency programs, in addition to overseeing and working on specialized projects with the company’s 19 hospitals and four clinics. Furthermore, Dr. McPherson has also worked as an affiliate faculty member in the nursing program at Regis University – where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing – since 2004. Over the course of her vocational journey, Dr. McPherson cultivated her own education. In addition to receiving her MSN from Regis University, she achieved a Doctor of Education in interdisciplinary education from Creighton University in 2017. As part of her commitment in the field, she is also an active member of the American Nurses Association, the Colorado Nurses Association and the Oncology Nurses Society. Furthermore, Dr. McPherson is well regarded as a civic-minded citizen, regularly assisting the homeless population, cleaning and renovating local halfway houses and operating with various clinics to provide health screenings to community members. To commemorate her accomplishments, Dr. McPherson was honored with the Award for Volunteer Service by the Inner-City Health Center in 2011. In addition, she was recognized as the Health Educator of the Year by the Math Pioneers Camp for Children in 2009 and as a Good as Gold Employee by the Lutheran Medical Center in 2005. Dr. McPherson attributes her success to her sincere passion for assisting others. To wit, she finds herself most content when living without regrets and uplifting others, rather than undermining them. Having worked in the field of nursing for 45 years, Dr. McPherson intends to continue growing in her profession, and she hopes to retire sometime in the near future. DR. PENNE L.
