109 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Since commencing her career in 1977 as a science teacher at C.L. Harper High School, Abigail Nowlin Crawford has accumulated over 45 years of practiced experience in the field of education. She has held a variety of positions, serving as a science instructor and science department chairperson at S.H. Archer High and Harper-Archer High School between 1992 and 1999, the assistant principal of D.M. Therrell High School between 2001 and 2005, and the principal of the G.W. Carver High School of Entrepreneurship from 2005 to 2008. In 2013, Ms. Crawford founded ANC Focus Consulting Services LLC, where she continues to operate as an education consultant. In her current role, she offers clients customized coaching in professional development, teacher training and in-classroom solutions. Prior to beginning her vocational journey, Ms. Crawford pursued her own formal education, earning a BS in biology from Francis Marion University in 1976. She subsequently continued her studies at Georgia State University, receiving an MS in science education in 1991. Furthermore, in 2000, Ms. Crawford achieved an EdS in administration and supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. In addition to her academic credentials, she holds numerous professional certifications and remains active with several industry-related organizations. Adjacent to her primary endeavors, Ms. Crawford is an accomplished writer, having authored the inspirational book, “My Mamma Said,” in 2019. To commemorate her professional accomplishments, she has also been recognized with numerous accolades, including the NAEA Award from the National Alternative Education Association in 2015, SMSEA Outstanding Service Awards in 2001 and 2003, and the Star Teacher Award from HarperArcher High School in 1997. Ms. Crawford attributes much of her success to her mother, who served as a constant source of inspiration and motivation and always stressed the importance of education. In light of her professional achievements, she is especially proud to have worked with many children over the years and watched them grow to achieve their full potential.
