260 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS JOEL SETH ARONSON, RPH CLINICAL PHARMACY SPECIALIST (RETIRED) Veteran Affairs Medical Center Natick, MA Discovering his passion for chemistry early in his life, Joel Seth Aronson went on to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry by first working at an Eckerd Drugs warehouse in Florida one summer. His first step in attaining his goal was earning a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1972. Subsequently, he obtained his license as a pharmacist in Louisiana in 1973, having completed a pharmacy internship at Steven's Pharmacy in Boston. He then worked at Brookline Pharmacy from 1973 to 1974 as a pharmacy graduate intern. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Aronson reciprocated his pharmacy license to Massachusetts in 1974 and passed the Florida Pharmacy Board examination in 1975. Delving further into his work, Mr. Aronson gained valuable expertise as a staff hospital pharmacist with Boston City Hospital from 1974 to 1996, as well as with the BostonMedical Center from 1996 to 2002. In 2003, he was employed by the Medical Staffing Network (MSN)/Pharmstaff, a pharmacy recruiting agency, which found him part-time pharmacist jobs at the Family Med Pharmacy, Costco Pharmacy, Target Pharmacy and CVS Procare, as well as a full-time contract pharmacist position at the VAMC in Providence, Rhode Island. In 2004, Mr. Aronson joined the Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Providence as a staff hospital clinical pharmacist until being promoted to a clinical pharmacy specialist in 2011. In this post, he helped thousands of veterans through inpatient and outpatient services, verified physicians’ orders, and maintained responsibility for discharging and counseling veterans until retiring in 2019. Finding great success throughout the course of his career, Mr. Aronson recently accepted an I-Care Award Leadership pin from the U.S. Department for Veterans Affairs. Upon reflection of his career trajectory, one memorable moment was when he worked at Boston City Hospital during a harsh blizzard in Boston in February1978.
