283 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS profession was passed down until the Empire’s fall, then rekindled with Dr. Deuvletian, who desired to carry on his family’s legacy. He subsequently received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Montreal and served as a veterinarian in small animal medicine for 26 years. Since 2001, Dr. Deuvletian has excelled as a veterinarian for Clinique Veterinaire de Montreal in Quebec, Canada. Holding a veterinary license in Quebec and Ontario, Canada, as well as in the State of New York, he has experienced several career achievements. Among these highlights, he is especially proud of working with a cat named Bonjuk, who was 8 years old. Coming in for a routine spaying procedure, the cat was discovered to have a pus-filled uterus known as a pyometra – a surgery that Dr. Deuvletian cites as the most significant surgery of his career. Publicized extensively, Dr. Deuvletian was featured in the article “Autism in Adults Detected by Brain Scans,” published through CBC News in light of his autism spectrum disorder. He notes that despite his diagnosis, he has leveraged the capabilities he has cultivated through his understanding of how autismaffects him to apply to his everyday practice of veterinary medicine. To this end, he also attributes his success to his heritage, as well as his determination to continue pressing forward regardless of whichever obstacles are in his path. Looking toward the future, Dr. Deuvletian intends to delve into the discipline of creative writing, having just completed a diploma of creative writing at Concordia University. He just successfully completed a creative nonfiction course with plans to garner experience in writing a novella. D r. Serge K. Deuvletian’s passion for animal care was sparked when he was only 5 years old when his mother adopted a stray cat. Alongside this act, he was inspired to enter veterinary sciences in light of his ancestors’ profession of being animal caretakers under the reign of the Ottoman Empire in what is now Turkey.
