Additionally, she is a preceptor for South College and Belmont pharmacy students. To remain abreast of advancements in her industry, she maintains affiliation with the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Rho Chi Honor Society, an international honor society for pharmaceutical sciences. As she progresses in her career, Dr. Smith’s goal for the future is to continue as an advocate for patient care and the pharmacy profession. She also hopes to undertake the specialty board examinations to attain certification in geriatrics and clinical nutrition. Dr. Smith attributes her growth thus far to the clinical pharmacy environment in which she works and her compassionate nature. Due to the diversity of career options ranging from retail to clinical research, Dr. Logan Ann-Marie Smith gravitated toward a career in pharmaceuticals. Likewise, she was always interested in the medicinal side of health care and optimizing patient therapies. To reach her professional goals, she earned a BS in biology and chemistry from Jacksonville State University in 2015, followed by a PharmD from the South College School of Pharmacy in 2018, where she was the recipient of a Merck Award for Excellent Patient Care. At the inception of her career, Dr. Smith served as a pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy in Centre, Alabama, from 2012 to 2015. In 2018, she joined PharMerica in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she rose frompharmacist to pharmacist-incharge and focused on geriatric care, remaining until 2022. Today, Dr. Smith is a pharmacist with AspenRx Health, an online medication therapy management company, and is a pharmacist and pharmacy director at ContinuumRx in Knoxville. Among her many duties, she is responsible for overseeing and monitoring intravenous compounds and medications, including antibiotic, IVIG, and total parenteral nutrition therapies to patients at home and in facilities.
