Coined “The Vision Doctor,” she conducts three health missions per year to provide vision services across the globe to underserved communities, as well as glasses free-of-charge. Earlier, she was a nurse at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and home care nurse in New York and New Jersey for children with disabilities. Likewise, she was a lecturer at the University of Nigeria for over 15 years. Drawing upon a BS in economics and education from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, Dr. Nwobi also holds a BS in nursing from Excelsior College, MS in clinical psychology from the University of Lagos, and MBA in management and PhD in guidance and counseling from the University of Nigeria. She is especially proud of being a fellow of the Guidance and Counseling Association of Nigeria, as well as president of the Umuada Global Association and former alumni president and founder of the New Jersey chapter of the University of Nigeria. She is presently establishing an academic library in her hometown. Dr. Adewale Adeyinka Odukoya graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine with an MD in 2016. Subsequently completing a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in emergency medicine at the University of Tennessee by 2020, he completed his medical training in 2021 with a fellowship in palliative care at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Since 2021, Dr. Odukoya has excelled as a physician at Woodland Heights Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas, where he focuses his attention on family medicine. Likewise, he is board certified in family medicine in the states of Texas, Missouri and Tennessee. Equally lending his expertise with the University of Tennessee Family Medicine Center and as a clinical professor at the University of Houston, Dr. Odukoya recently authored a book chapter in “The Washington Manual of Outpatient Internal Medicine Pain Management” in 2021. Among his many career highlights, he is especially proud of immigrating to the United States at the age of 20, where he subsequently completed his degrees while supporting himself financially.
