Nettemeyer Jr. joined Valin Corporation in 2001, whereupon he served diligently as its president and chief executive officer. Now recognized as the executive chairman, his longstanding tenure at the company – which has spanned over two decades – resulted in his leading the company to 100% employee ownership in 2007. Presently, Mr. Nettemeyer maintains responsibility for executive Valin Corporation’s management succession plan. In this capacity, his works directly alongside the management team that develops and implements Valin Corporation’s strategies. Likewise, during his appointment as chief executive officer, Mr. Nettemeyer has invested much time and effort into further developing the skill sets of all employees at Valin Corporation. Looking toward the future, he would like to eventually transition many of his existing responsibilities to his management team and allocate more spare time to his civic endeavors. He intends for Valin Corporation to persist as an employee-owned company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Nettemeyer worked for several local manufacturers in St. Louis, Missouri, in a variety of supervisory and executive-level roles. In 1979, he joined Emerson Power Transmission, where he served as district manager and was promoted to the position of regional manager in 1982. Thereafter, he was appointed the vice president of sales and marketing for the Harris Calorific Division of Emerson Electric in 1986. In 1992, he accepted the role of vice president of sales and marketing for the Chromalox Division of Emerson Electric until 2001. He draws upon a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with dual majors in accounting and marketing, which he earned from St. Louis University in 1973. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Nettemeyer has been a staunch advocate of employees within his profession, having served as chairman of the Institute for Distribution Excellence, as well as chairman of the executive board of the National Association of Wholesale Distributors.
