Stewart is renowned for his career in scientific and engineering endeavors, specializing in system analysis. At the start of his journey, he earned a BS in physics from Miami University and an MS in nuclear physics from the University of Pittsburgh. Shortly thereafter, he commenced his career working for NASA, where he remained for 15 years. Initially recruited at NASA to assist with research on a 60-inch cyclotron, the majority of his responsibilities at NASA involved the Apollo Program until its completion. Moving along in his endeavors, Mr. Stewart continued his career with the Ford Motor Company, where he excelled for three decades as a physicist in the research laboratory and as head of technical specialists. During this time, he developed several patents, four of which are from the research he conducted with the Ford Motor Company, and co-authored numerous design specifications. He also served as chairman of the company’s technical specialist committee until retiring from the position. Today, Mr. Stewart excels as the owner of WMS Consulting, LLC. In this capacity, he is an expert in the Taguchi method of quality control, a way of resolving issues in the manufacturing process. He champions this method because he was able to resolve manufacturing process problems at Ford’s manufacturing plant, demonstrating the method’s efficacy in practice. Outside of his main career path, Mr. Stewart is passionate about boating and is a certified instructor with the Department of Natural Resources for Safe Boating. He was previously active on the United States Power Squadrons of America’s Boating Courses and currently serves as the squadron education officer for the organization.
