Remaining in this role for several years, Ms. Chamberlain was then promoted to the position of technical assistant of the community college’s Integrated Learning Center, which offered laboratories in psychology and mathematics, as well as a writing center and a transitional studies computer laboratory. Since 2016, she has excelled with Monroe Community College as a senior technical assistant, as well as a concierge for online students at the college. Previously, Ms. Chamberlain served a private school teaching pre-kindergarten classes before joining Monroe Community College. Earlier in her career, Ms. Chamberlain moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, upon her husband’s military relocation to Fort Carson, where she taught English as a Second Language and immigration and naturalization classes. In only two years, she and her team helped 600 new military and spousal American citizens graduate from their programs. Thereafter, her husband was stationed in West Germany, where Ms. Chamberlain volunteered for Army Community Services and taught ESOL classes, followed by a tenure as a volunteer supervisor in which she ran 17 programs. Following this tour, she and her husband moved to Tooele Army Depot in Utah, where she worked again with military families. Drawing upon a BS in geology from Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire and an MS in adult education from Buffalo State College, Ms. Chamberlain also completed some master’s level coursework in geology at San Jose State College. She maintains professional affiliation with the St. Francis de Sales Association, through which she has planned national conferences for over 25 years. For her success, Ms. Chamberlain received three Tribute Awards, as well as the Scholars’ Day Innovator of the Year Award in 2016. Sandra A. Chamberlain joined the faculty of Monroe Community College in 1983 when she was offered employment in tutoring English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students. Shortly thereafter, the community college opened a downtown campus in Damon City, where she volunteered to serve as a tutor for two years in SANDRA A.
