He began writing his book in 1993 but halted his progress on his book. When he was able to revisit the story, he was driven by the strength of other veterans, as well as the children of veterans who completed suicide. must have in mind that they could go into the battlefield. Having found his literary voice, Mr. Gregory looks forward to writing his second book, in which the theme would be the secrets of government. Mr. Gregory credits the influence of his grandfather for his success from childhood into adulthood. Growing up in his grandfather’s house, he would occasionally accompany him to work, which included labor on his farm and on construction properties. Looking back, he remembers it as the best part of his life, as it was when he spent the most time with his grandfather and when he developed a strong work ethic. Additionally, Mr. Gregory learned how to work diligently from his mother. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gregory hopes to travel and visit others with whom he served in Vietnam. He has two children and three granddaughters: Jadyn, Jasmyn and Riley. In his spare time, he enjoys tending to his garden, golfing and fishing.
