284 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science from Howard University in 1997, Maureen Mesode Eneme-Koge has gone on to lead an honorable career as amedical technologist. For more than 25 years, she has been a medical technologist at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, the largest hospital campus in Northern Virginia and the flagship hospital of Inova Health System. These entities are home to a neonatal intensive care unit, a dedicated pediatric intensive care unit, an oncology unit, an adolescent medicine unit, and centers for cardiac surgery and pediatric surgery. In her present role as a medical technologist, Ms. Eneme-Koge has conducted patient testing and quality assurance, along with processing and testing specimens, among other responsibilities. She attributes her professional success to her affinity for having a diligent work ethic and performing her job accurately. Ms. Eneme-Koge recalls that she became involved in her field while developing an interest in laboratories while in Cameroon. She adds that she has always been fascinated with machines and microscopes; therefore, she has experienced a long and fulfilling journey. She also maintains that being drawn into the field felt like an epiphany to which she was drawn and subsequently followed. To remain abreast of advancements and changes in her field, Ms. Eneme-Koge maintains professional affiliation with the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Looking toward the future, she hopes to experience the continued growth and success of her career and achieve her goal to attain a higher position at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. With a desire to share her knowledge and exchange ideas, Ms. Eneme-Koge also aims to become a consultant or inspector of a hospital laboratory in the ensuing years.
